Beyonce Gives Birth To Baby Blue Ivy Carter

After numerous false alarms, the day has finally come in which Beyoncé Knowles has given birth to her first child!

The 30-year-old superstar welcomed a healthy baby girl reportedly named Blue Ivy Carter at New York City's Lenox Hospital on Saturday night (January 7) via a scheduled C-section with husband Jay-Z by her side.

According to the NY Daily News, Miss Knowles checked in under the name of Ingrid Jackson with ABC News telling that she arrived at the hospital on Friday night.

Doing everything possible to keep the birthing process a private affair, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are said to have shelled out a hefty $1.3 million to rent out the entire fourth floor of Lenox Hospital during their stay - though another hospital source dismissed the claim, saying, “We don’t have entire floors sitting empty at Lenox Hill."

At the current time, no further details have been made available, but be sure to check back with GossipCenter for all of the latest Beyoncé baby info.

Jay-Z and Kanye West perform on 2011 MTV VMAs

The rumors were true! Kanye West and Jay-Z hit the 2011 MTV VMAs stage to perform "Otis" off their Billboard 200 No. 1 album, "Watch the Throne," for the first time since the album's release.

Pyro lights, reminiscent to the official video, lit the stage as West, in a tie dye denim shirt, and Jay, in a crisp white tee, spit "luxury rap" off their first single.

Beef ensuing between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne?

Just a day after the leak of superstar Lil Wayne’s blog-igniting track “It’s Good,” a two-fisted cut that’s making noise for its perceived brazen diss at hip-hop legend Jay-Z and his omnipresent wife pop-R&B queen Beyonce, the skateboarding Gremlin doesn’t seem at all fazed. During an interview for an upcoming Oct./Nov. Vibe story, Wayne says he’s not worried about any fallout from the presumed lyrical barb at the Watch The Throne MC which features Drake and Jadakiss as Weezy snaps, “I got your baby money/Kidnap your bitch, get that how much you love your lady money.” (The sneering line comes off as a rebuttal to Hova’s Birdman-aimed “H.A.M.” slap “Really you got baby money…You ain't got my lady’s money.”)

“I know there won’t be any repercussions behind what I did,” says a confident Wayne when asked if he had second thoughts about recording his acidic verse for ‘It's Good.’ “I know for a fact music is about perception. You can’t do anything but perceive what you hear. I know that for a fact. So I can’t ever be upset about someone’s reaction.”

Wayne added that while he understands the intrigue and buzz behind the record, it’s just another song. “I’m not going to say I don’t know what would happen before I even say [something on record],” he explains. “I do know what will happen. I’m aware of it. But it is what it is.”

Lil Wayne is currently headlining his I Am Still Music Tour. He is set to digitally drop his highly anticipated release Tha Carter IV on Sunday, August 28th. -

How Lenny Kravitz teamed up with a Bahamian DJ to make Boongie Drop ft. Jay-Z

According to LargeUp.com: Lenny Kravitz just leaked this song off his new LP Black & White America which features Jay-Z, a distinctly Caribbean-flavored riddim plus soundman DJ Military screaming clash-style on the intro and adding a touch of Bahamian slang (Come mek that boongie drop!) to the hook. Lenny himself shouts out Nassau and peppers his vocal with phrases like Black heat / in the dancehall. This is all a little bit surprising but maybe not that surprising, considering that Lenny's album "Black & White America" was actually recorded largely in the Bahamas, where Kravitz not only owns property but has other connections to the island soil. Lenny’s mom is Bahamian.

Upon Entertainment From D 'net's independent research, we discovered exactly how the song came into being:

"Down the road from where I live, there's a little place to get food, and at night, there’s a DJ," he [Lenny] says. "I was there watching these Bahamian women dance. Most of them happen to be very full figured ladies, and they're super-proud of their bodies. They wear shorter shorts, in loud colors and it's really encouraging to see that they are not buying the stereotypes of what the media says is beautiful."
Inspired by these women, Kravitz came up with "Boongie Drop," a simmering space-shuffle with a grinding, late-night groove ("in the Bahamas, 'boongie' is the word for 'ass,' so I just kept it cultural," he explains). Jay-Z, who has collaborated with Kravitz on several songs over the years, jumps on the track with some high-speed, island-inflected rhymes, while DJ Military, the actual DJ at the club and an old friend of Kravitz's, got his own chance to kick off the song.

And now you know!

J. Cole releases Work Out video for the album Jay-Z calls "a classic"

Jay-Z has spoken. The hip-hop tycoon has given his stamp of approval to J. Cole’s debut album, calling it a “classic.”
Jay’s protégé had the daunting task of playing the album for his Roc Nation boss. “When I played him the album, I could gauge his response not on what he said, but what his vibe was,” Cole exclusively tells Rap-Up.com. “I linked up with [Roc Nation executive] Rich Kleiman and he said he was with Jay-Z later that night. Out of nowhere, Jay said, ‘So Cole got a classic. That motherfucker.’”
As of last Friday, the album was 99 percent done. “I still have to finish up interludes, tweaking mixes, and features that I’m trying to make happen.”
One of those potential features is his mentor, though Cole isn’t stressing if schedules don’t permit half of The Throne to be on the album. “We’ll see. It’s very possible that he might not be on it. I feel like it’s dope as hell though,” he shares.
“The whole world knows that J. Cole is waiting on a Jay-Z verse, but if it don’t happen, it don’t happen. But how ill is it that the album is called The Sideline Story, which is a metaphor for me trying to get off the bench, and I’m waiting for the nod from the coach?”
After hearing Watch the Throne, the North Carolina MC was initially concerned about his own material, but it only inspired him more. “When I first heard the album, I was like, ‘Damn, they really gonna put this out seven weeks before my album?’” says Cole, who singled out “New Day” and “Gotta Have It” as his two standout tracks off Throne. “I got a little nervous, but it’s also motivation and pushes me further.”
Find out why Cole World: The Sideline Story is deserving of Jay-Z’s praise when it arrives on September 27, featuring the singles “Work Out” and “Can’t Get Enough” with Trey Songz.
Meanwhile, check out "Work Out", the first music video from the album.

Birdman Confirms Drake and Wayne Collaborative Album, Comments on Watch The Throne

Rap fans in love with Jay-Z and Kanye West’s joint album, Watch the Throne, can brace themselves for another release by different hip-hop dynamic duo: Lil Wayne and Drake.
Although he didn’t name a tentative date, Cash Money Records founder Bryan “Baby” Williams confirmed with XXL that Weezy and Drizzy will definitely be putting out a collaborative album together well after each deliver their respective solo efforts.

“Wayne and I recently talked about [the Weezy/Drake collabo album],” Baby told XXLMag.com. “That’s definitely going to get done.”

Birdman promises that Wayne and Drake will offer up a different sound from that of Jay and ‘Ye.

“It’s older versus younger,” Baby said. “I listened to a few songs [off Watch The Throne] and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young. They young cats. You got 23 [24] and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So, it’s two different types of music all the way across the board.

“But what they’re doing is great,” he added. “I think it’s great for the game, great for the business, great for retail as a whole. I just think when Wayne and Drake get together is going to be something real special also because we more youthful.”

While a Wayne/Drake collabo LP is certainly something to look forward to in the foreseeable future, the Cash Money/Young Money camp currently has all its sights set on Weezy’s Tha Carter IV, which drops on August 29, followed by Drake’s sophomore LP, Take Care on October 24.
