Isaac Blackman launches new website and album

The powerful, pulsating rhythms of Africa and India have come together once again in the spirit of Jamoo, as singer/songwriter/producer and multi-instrumentalist, Isaac Blackman prepares to release his third album, World Changers this week. The 28-year-old 'veteran' is set to explode onto the World Wide Web as he embraces the power of the Internet and celebrates this new release with a week full of online activities from August 15-19.

Of course, there will also be a physical album launch, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at Woodford Cafe, MovieTowne, Port of Spain. But from Monday, Blackman's website, www.isaacblackman.com will be officially launched to the global community and visitors can download a free song while they also preview the artwork from the new album.

On Tuesday, another free download will be made available on the site, even as visitors participate in an online listening session, where they will have the opportunity to win free copies of the entire album. On Wednesday the title track, "World Changers" will be available for download free of charge on the website, even as the media and specially-invited guests assemble at Woodford Cafe for the physical launch.

"I wrote this music from my heart and real experiences that I've gone through," said Blackman, "and I want to use that to help people overcome their situations. I want the world to understand that genuine, pure music that is not corrupted by commercialism still exists and bring back real, information-packed songs everywhere music is played. I want the world to hear and experience truth and light."

Following the physical launch here in Trinidad, World Changers will be released internationally on Thursday to all leading digital platforms, including: iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and others, as well as through select retail and CD stores around the globe. Blackman's management team is said to be "thoroughly impressed with and inspired by his latest body of work" and is taking "a comprehensive approach to this new release" and his career in general "to ensure that he achieves his greatest potential".

No stranger to the stage or performing circuit, Blackman has amassed tremendous experience after a staggering 22 years as a performing artiste. In 2006, he established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, when he fielded the massive hit "To The Ceiling" from his second album of the same name. The song not only became the largest song of that year in Trinidad and Tobago, but spread up the Caribbean and throughout North America, South America, Europe, Japan and Africa—increasing the demand for his amicable presence, engaging performances and unique production talents.

Following up on this success, Blackman took his energetic and inspirational live showcase of Jehovah's Music (Jamoo) to audiences as large as 50,000, while touring Kenya, Uganda, Sweden, Amsterdam, Malaysia, Suriname, the US and Canada. His tireless work ethic built him a long list of production and song-writing credits, including work with international reggae band Christafari, Soca artiste Maximus Dan and Conscious/Gospel acts Sherwin Gardner, Russell Leonce, Jadee and Rizon.

Meanwhile, Blackman remained focused on his own personal and professional goal: to make his next album his most powerful yet! His diverse taste in music influences the broad spectrum of the World Changers soundscape: showering it with droplets of hip-hop, techno, rock and reggae, even as the core elements of the music created by his father are maintained and fulfilled.

"As the youngest son of one of Trinidad and Tobago's greatest performing artistes, Ras Shorty I," said Blackman, "I have been immersed in a world of music from birth and I watched on in wonder as my father not only created the now wildly-popular genre known as 'soca', but also its younger, roots-ier sibling, Jamoo. It is therefore both my honour and my duty to carry on and fulfil this rich musical legacy."

Blackman spent his teenage years performing with the family band The Love Circle as they shared conscious offerings like "We Cyar Rest" and the anti-drug anthem, "Watch Out My Children". Shortly after his father's death, Isaac moved from drummer to lead singer, while developing his skills as a producer. His first album, In Your Eyes was recorded and produced alongside the family band and garnered his first hit, "Always Remember".

Blackman's gritty, soulful and soaring vocals empower listeners with messages of self-improvement, social change and love for God—ultimately resulting in love for each other as human beings. His new 14-track album displays his maturity—not only as a producer, but also as a songwriter resulting in one of the most aesthetically complete and musically sound albums to emerge from Trinidad and Tobago.
