Soca superstar Machel Montano was featured in last week’s edition of the BBC’s The Live Lounge, one of the most popular features on British radio which has previously featured the likes of Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Jay Z and many of the biggest names in music. Machel’s repertoire included One More Time and a cover version of Bob Marley’s Waiting in Vain. The session took place at the world famous BBC Maida Vale Studios which has seen sessions recorded by music legends Frank Sinatra and Bob Marley, to name a few.
It was a landmark event for a soca artiste to do a Live Lounge session. It aired at 6 am local time just ahead of Machel’s appearance at the first three-day Caribbean festival to take place in London, The CALO Festival, which runs until tomorrow. Machel and Team HD will be performing at the event today, along with such acts as Luciano, Dil-e-Nadan, Skinny Fabulous, Rikki Jai and other Caribbean artistes.
