According to TuffChin, the complainant allegedly stopped along the main road to allow a line of traffic to pass when he and his son were attacked by Vado and members of his entourage.
The complainant sustained injuries to his back, leg and forehead. Another man, who attempted to bribe the complainant on Wednesday, was also taken into custody by members of the Anti-Corruption Branch and is to be charged with perverting the course of justice.
Mavado is to appear in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate Court on Monday, August 8.
