Lil Wayne and his much publicized “MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged” world premiere last night (June 12) may have clashed with some fans watching the eclipse of the Miami Heat as they lost to the underdog Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals on ABC, but the popular New Orleans MC enjoys one of the most dedicated fan bases in any genre and it seems that many were definitely plugged in for the show – which also enjoyed the distinction of being the first “Unplugged” rap special since Jay-Z did it in 2001. He performed many classic songs, covered 2pac’s hit “Hail Mary“, and even showcased a new song titled “Nightmares Of The Bottom” off his upcoming album Tha Carter IV.
