It was originally a bonus track on the deluxe edition of Pink Friday, but was released to radio on April 5, 2011. In March 2011, Minaj booked Sanaa Hamri to direct the video for "Super Bass". The music video for Super Bass premiered on May 5, 2011 on BET's 106 & Park.
