The video was filmed on 22 March and 23 March 2012 at the Taiko Center in Los Angeles. It was directed by Adria Petty & Alan Bibby. Rihanna described her look in the video as “gangsta goth geisha” . Starting from April 17, 2012, a tour edition of the video started playing behind the band as they perform the song during their North American leg of their Mylo Xyloto Tour. In the tour version of the video, it shows Rihanna wearing two different costumes and golden 'claws' as she performs a choreography with her arms in front of a background with colorful effects.
The video premiered on June 2nd, 2012 on a Chinese website as a film trailer. The Video will premiere on June 4th, 2012 at 08.15am (UK) and 03.15am (EST) on VEVO.
